TEACHER OF THE YEAR (5/09) - LCD
Projector
Congratulations to Mr. Day on being chosen the
High School Teacher of the Year. Mr. Day will be sharing the LCD Projector
with other teachers in the Social Studies Department. He plans to use the
LCD Projector in his AP European and World History II classes. Adding the
projector to his classroom allows students to view power point presentations,
video materials such as Simon Schama's "Power of Art", historic documentaries
found on the History Channel and other electronic research materials. This
technology opens another avenue of teaching and learning to the educational
environment.
TEACHER OF THE YEAR – Pre AP English
Books
Ms.
Wingfield was selected as the high school teacher of the year. The Foundation
recognizes this accomplishment by awarding a grant to each teacher of the year
for a special classroom project. Ms. Wingfield requested these funds to purchase
novels for her AP English classes. Students will now be able to read the books
at home and at school which is most helpful in this rigorous program of study.
