SMARTboard (5/09)

The Smartboard is the new blackboard!  Technology is such a huge part of our everyday lives now and we need to incorporate this into our teaching and learning.  The SMARTboard allows teachers and students to access and display websites, run educational software, highlight and review notes from a class discussion, deliver PowerPoint presentations and much more.  This board is touch sensitive and interactive.  It provides the ability to show and do rather than just tell.  Students are motivated to learn with this new technology.  Ms. Johnson, the special education teacher, funds the characteristics of learning with the SMARTboard to be especially beneficial to the student in her high-needs classroom.

Document Camera and LCD Projector (5/09)

The document camera is a visual presentation tool that teachers use in their classrooms.  The camera is connected to the LCD projector and any item can be placed on the camera and projected onto a white screen or SMARTboard.  This can be used in any subject and with almost any item ranging from math manipulative to a living organism.  If the camera is being used with a SMART board, the teacher can even write on the image.  This technology allows one to record images and save to a memory card.  This equipment can also be used at PTA meetings to show student work.  Ms. Steele is excited to share this new form of learning with her students and this new method of teaching with her peers.

Document Camera

The document camera is a visual presentation tool that teachers use by connecting the camera to an LCD Projector. Any object can be placed under the camera which projects the image onto a white screen or a Smart board. Ms. Witt plans to use this camera in history, math and language arts classes.
